Budget Information

Fire Districts operate on a fiscal year that runs from July 1 through June 30 and are required to adopt a budget prior to the start of each fiscal year.  Final adopted budgets from FY2013-2014 forward must be posted on the District's official website and remain there for a period of at least 5 years.

Prior to adopting a final budget, a Fire District must adopt a proposed budget and hold a public hearing on the proposed budget.  The proposed budget is generally adopted for posting in April or May.  The proposed budget must be publicly posted for a minimum of 20 days prior to a public hearing called for the purpose of receiving public input on the proposed budget.  After public posting and a public hearing, the final budget is then adopted.
